A Little Tour of Our Weekend

Yes, it was romantic and refreshing. We so desperately needed time away with each other. Our last mini trip away was last February, so we were more than ready to get away. We enjoyed this incredible view together, finished complete sentences, held hands (with each other!), chatted over a long and wonderful dinner, laughed about our children, spent time in our bibles, soaked in a hot tub together while we dreamed about where our lives are going, ate cheesecake in bed, and...you don't really think you get to know everything, now do you? Suffice it to say: our time was refreshing and healing. God spoke to us about where we are, where we have been, and where we're going.

Life had been pretty crazy and a little less than wonderful lately. Matt's new job has been more of a shock than we anticipated, and we have barely seen him. We were confused about whether we had missed God or not concerning it. It's just been hard. But He gave us both clarity this weekend and even a reality check. We are blessed beyond measure, yet we were finding ourselves complaining. We have all we need...never once have we been hungry or cold. And the longest time Matt has ever been without a job was 2 weeks, and that was even before we had children. God is good, and we're thankful that He is patient with us and blesses us with provision.

I know some of you were praying for us, knowing some things were challenging for us, and I just want to thank you for that. We needed those prayers, and we feel that they were answered. We have come away from our weekend with a renewed love for each other and also for our Savior.

Peace of Christ to you,
Cara
